| aka Jost's America Rushes (1982) BFI The second of this short season of Eleventh Hour programmes devoted to US independent film-naker JON JOST, consists of a profile of him, together with several of his short films made over the past twenty years. Jost is interviewed by IAN CHRISTIE and the films are Canyon, 13 Fragments and 3 Narratives from Life, and City, his first film dating from 1963. Jost, once called the 'Godard of America' has taken a consistently radical look at the States through a series of award-winning features which have challenged both the politics and form of Ho1lywood. His films offer a lyrical, penetrating, accessible and potent personal vision. His method of work is highly personal. He writes, directs, shoots and invariably composes movies and songs for his films all of which have been made on miniscule budgets.
