Hi JAM people. :)

Following on from the other thread, I did my own comparison of the various versions of episode 239 floating around. Fear not! If you have the previous "Full edit", then you have all the available rounds already. "Pottering About" was indeed in there.

I've gone ahead and mixed the missing round (Ties) in with the CD version to make a version with all the rounds intact, in the order listed on Dean's site. Honestly, with the high quality of Mark's existing 239, it's nearly impossible to tell that there are two sources in this edit.

So S11E20 Full Edit [CD Source] is up in a protected folder in the usual spot. Hopefully you know the usual spot, and you have a good idea of the password by now. I'm honestly providing this for the group regulars who already have bought the CDs. If you're new, and you don't know where to look (or what the password is) then I'm sorry, but I'm not going to email it to you.

The astute amongst you will notice that this edit runs only 31:45 whereas the previous one ran 32:09. This is due to the CD running about 2.1% faster than the old version, and longer applause at various points across that version, too. (There's an extra half second here or there where Nicholas falls over his words and repeats himself in the new edit, but it's not worth mentioning because it's so inconsequential).

So, in conclusion:

1. If you know where to get it (or I know you!) then the new edit is up.

2. If I don't know you and you don't know where to get it, I'm sorry.

3. The old full edit still has all the available content, but why don't you go and buy the CDs? :)

4. I've also removed the old edit if you're looking for it. Sorry again.

Well, I did buy the full CD set. Actually I got it as a Christmas gift. I
have no idea what the usual spot is or the password, but it would be nice to
listen to the new edit to see what was cut. I would appreciate it if
someone would contact me off list with the login information. It sounds
like James isn't going to share this with me since I am new and don't know
where to look. Presumably it isn't in the JAM Jar. I'm not sure how I can
prove that I have the full set except that it's in a hard plastic album
which leaves something to be desired in terms of how the CDs are placed.
The first show on the second CD has a weird sound problem with KW's rounds
in the later part of the show where you can hear a slight echo and what
seems like a volume drop. Perhaps they had microphone trouble or it was an
early attempt at stereo recording. The CDs themselves are in a spindle
configuration in the hard plastic package which makes it difficult to sort
them because there doesn't seem to be a way to prevent them from going back
on top of each other on the left when the album is opened. I'm not sure
which episode is #239 but I probably haven't got to it yet. Can anyone
help? It sounds interesting and would be nice to hear any cut material.

You've been around here almost two years - I've emailed you privately. I didn't mean to come across as mean or controversial or as if this is some sort of exclusive club. I just don't want to share the episode with the world at large because I want the BBC to actually sell CDs. :)

So sorry if I seemed irritable to anyone with my post.

And if this hasn't been expressed, thanks to Mark for looking at the episodes and motivating me to make the edit!
