Just A Minute

 

Well, here's an interesting one for those of us who still prefer physical media. Not sure if this is new information or not...

Not only is there a "Best of 2015" and a third classic collection listed, titled "Just a Minute: A Further Classic Collection" (1st October) and containing another 22 episodes (judging by the cover, showcasing Julian Clary, Tony Hawks, Sue Perkins, Tim Rice and someone else who I presume to be Wendy Richard, and most likely another bonus disc), but also complete box sets of series 71 (already released) and 72 (3rd September).

I know the BBC have been selling complete seasons as downloads for some time now, but I'm surprised to see them starting to sell two complete seasons on CD, especially at a time when most retailers seem to be moving more towards downloads and away from physical media, not to mention the risk of the ! "best of" CD cutting into their sales. There are also box sets listed for two series of "The News Quiz" (apparently Sandi's last and Miles' first, the latter of which is obviously still untransmitted), as well as its own "best of 2015" release, so there appears to be a certain amount of confidence in the idea.

Seems odd that there are no similar box sets for Clue, which has less than half as many episodes per year to collect. I'd snap those up. In fact, there's been no Clue release at all for two years now. I'd kill for another Willie Rushton era "Live: Vol. 3".
