Topic: JAM helps me to exercise

I have been trying to do a 20-30 minute walk  5-7 days a week and found that listening to JAM's is a good way to keep me going. Not only are they entertaining but about the right length of time.

I would join a gym that played JAM rather than rock music...

I do the same thing. I listen to JAM about once a week when walking. It's
hard to keep up a good pace when I'm laughing though. During the rest of
the week, I alternate among other game and quiz shows such as Counterpoint,
Brain of Britain, RBQ, Pointless, (it works surprisingly well with only
audio) Mastermind, Eggheads, University Challenge, Many A Slip, TUT and
whatever else I can find. I've started working my way through the BBC World
Service programmes. I really like science, technology and history
programmes. I've tried listening to the Proms, but I find it's too hard to
concentrate on the music when I'm going at a fast pace. JAM doesn't require
as much concentration while still being entertaining. I wear a high quality
set of headphones to block out background noise and that makes a huge
difference.

I listen to other Radio 4 things too- I tend to record/download 8 or so shows a week.

( I would gladly pay a Fee for All Access to the BBC I Player including TV)

But Comedy or Music shows work best for me- I have listened to several of the Soul Music series and enjoyed them too.
