Topic: People who record the shows

For those who have an extensive self-made collection of episodes, I was
wondering - is it only this programme, or does anyone happen to
routinely record other Radio 4 shows as well?

Hi Cymro.

Let me know which episodes of 'Clue' you are missing, I may be able to
help.

just out of interest, is there a complete list of Clue eps, similar to
my JAM list?

Yes there is a list. Here it is - http://www.isihac.org.uk/ or
http://martinsotr.dnsalias.com/logs/index.htm

You might be aware that it is difficult to point to a definitive list
of episodes - due not only to single - episode repeats but also to
compilation broadcasts and the compilation audio cassettes. There are
a fair number of incorrectly labelled episodes floating around. You
can't really identify simply by the ball/filmclub etc, or simply by
Humph's opening remarks, because of the compilation broadcasts. Which
means that compilation broadcasts often get incorrectly identified as
something else.

I would be more than willing to share the collection if you are
interested Dean (the absolute least I could do!) - because at the
moment it is quite stagnant and I haven't managed to acquire a new
episode for a long time. If anybody else collects clue like me - that
might throw up a new episode.

Just in case anyone does have a Clue collection. My missing list
stands like this (16 episodes) -

s02e10 1973-07-02
s02e11 1973-07-09
s02e12 1973-07-16 ? Confectioners Ball
s02e13 1973-07-23 ? Politicians Ball
s03e03 1974-09-11
s03e04 1974-09-18 Clerics Ball (only got last 4 minutes)
s06e02 1978-08-29 Criminals Ball
s06e03 or s06e06 - Whichever one is NOT Artists Ball
s06e05 oe s06e08 - Whichever one is NOT Travellers Ball
s06e07 1978-10-03 Vets Ball (my copy only runs 20 mins)
s08eSP 1981-12-25
s21eC1 1993-07-12 Compilation from s09-17 = cassette Vol 1 Side 4
s21eC6 1993-08-16 Compilation from s20e05 and s20e06
s21eC7 1993-08-23 Compilation from s21e01 and s21e02

episodes!!! I will be checking my inbox every few minutes now!!!!

thanks for that _ I wasn't aware the list had been completed. That's a
good step forward. I'll have to have a good look through it.

I am not a big enough fan to collect Clues really - as I've said here
before I find it a bit samey, a lot of the same in-jokes repeated every
week. But of course I know there are a lot of people who adore it. Each
to their own!

But I do appreciate the kind offer Cymro. Thank you very much. :)

All but 20 episodes? Very impressive. Isn't that another show that
had early episodes wiped by the BBC? I thought I read somewhere that
the first episode had been lost until a fan recording was discovered.

Speaking of which, is anyone up for a group similar to this where we
could share Clue eps? I've been aching to get hold of some for a
while, as I've been having to wear out the commercial tapes for lack
of anything new to listen to (new series notwithstanding).

There was at one time an ISIHAC group, but I found them fairly rude and
didn't last long there. Still perhaps someone knows if it is still
going, and can remember the name and so on.

But if anyone wants to post ISIHAC files here, I don't have a problem.

If I visited the same clue group as you Dean, it seems to have died a
death!! As I mentioned - I have no problem sharing my collection - it
is the least I could do to thank Dean, Martin and the rest who make
this one of the best groups on Yahoo. I will try and start today! And
will post links. I am not sure how to create a folder for ISIHAC
episodes though? I will look, but maybe someone can either create one,
or tell me how!

I'm not sure if someone just did this since your email, but if you go to
the links page there is now a folder for ISIHAC

and thanks - this group has certainly been far more successful than I
expected! :)

Is everyone else like me just waiting for the first show in the new
season? Two and a half days to go...

I have some news to tell too about other shows in the season.... I'll
start typing it all up.

It's possible, all you need to do is find the address where the audio
file is located, download it using a download manager, and then
convert it to mp3 if you wish.

Thats what I meant by the "Unless you know how.. :-)" ! On Windows XP I use a sniffer program (can't remember the name - possibly mediaSniffer) and then the freeware version of Net Transport.
