JAM trivia

Hi Jammers. I've started replaying all JAMs again. It's a nice way to spend two or three hours during a hike.

In #016 (How_To_Stay_Lovely) at 16:12, poor old Nick gets into a bother and refers to Derek as "Cleric Nimmo", obviously starting to say "Clement" and switching to "Derek" halfway through.

I found it apposite since Derek habitually played clerical roles on TV such as 'All Gas and Gaiters',
'Oh, Brother!', 'Oh, Father! ' and 'Hell's Bells'.

BTW - it's fascinating to track the changes of rules as the games proceed, especially the extremely slippery and inconsistent definition of "repetition" which - in the first series - seemed to be mean "not more than 3 repetitions" even when it was on the card... unless it applied to a single repetition, or four or six, depending on the mood of the chairman - even in a single show: sometimes in a single round.

It was actually Clement's chairmanship (ep #018) that introduced the rule that the words on the card could be repeated (once).

One of these days I may produce a timeline of significant evolutions of JAM rules.
Or not.
