Topic: Bad JAM

Hi all. In my continuing hike through all the JAMs, I've discovered a fault in JAM-1972-09-19@118,S07E03=Sneakers.

At the 23:00 mark the audio breaks up for a minute and little sections are missing. I have no other copies.

Does anyone have an undamaged copy of #118?

Cheers
Mark

Just checked both my copies of this 1972 episode, one sourced from radioarchive and another from thebox. Different file sizes and lengths, 11.9MB (24:41) and 5.9MB (24:39), but both start skipping around the 23 minute mark.

It's a shame they don't repeat these early series anyone - even the World Service repeats concentrated on 1993-2004. I'm also disappointed that BBC Store only sells downloads of tv programmes and not radio shows as I would happily pay for high quality downloads from the 70s and 80s...

I asked the same thing back in 2012.  Sadly, the conclusion appears to be that we're all in the same boat.  :(

Mine jumps about a bit with bits of words missing. I checked Dean's transcript and the words appear fuller and in a more logical way and at least one clause is in a different place. So either Dean just did a pretty good job at reconstructing, or he has an unsullied copy. Assuming it was one of Dean's.

SH: You can have the high-pitched type or the low ones. There are also those rather nice ones that play a tune and I think don't fill the function about warning people that allows people to know that they have a car. To refer to the slang use of this, we have a fine selection of hooters on this team. I have a very straightforward one...

My, Nic's diction was appalling back then. He really could not get a sentence out without a slur, or using a wrong consonant.
