You could also use get_iplayer to download and convert the audio file to your preferred formats in one step. Not saying this is a better way of doing it; merely an alternative method if this is what you’re asking.
Thanks for the hard work.

From: mailto:just-a-minute@...Sent: Tuesday, March 29, 2016 11:02 AMSubject: [just-a-minute] Recording JAMHi JamophilesUntil now, I have recorded JAMs using 'i-Sound for Windows7' which records any incoming audio in real time. This has always worked a treat.Lately, however, I have tried downloading iPlayer files directly using 'Internet Download Manager", which saves JAM episodes as FLV. I then use a freeware app to quickly rip the audio from the FLV into its native audio format, which - for iPlayer radio - happens to be AAC . Then I use Adobe Audition to trim the AAC and save as FLAC (for my archive) and MP3 (for the Jar).As far as I can tell, the quality of the FLV's audio is identical to that obtained by real-time recording with i-Sound - 44100 KHz sampling at 16 bits.It does save a lot of time, especially with 3 hour broadcasts like the recent Ross Noble northern comedy special. And it lets me play other audio at the time of ripping the programme without polluting the recording. There's little worse than painstakingly recording for 2 hours and then accidentally starting up a sonata by Bach in VLC player (or a noisy youtube video of kittens attacking a dog)... and then either editing the messed-up recording, or starting the playback from scratch.CheersMark----James R Curry
