Hi all. Before leaping to expensive and sticky JAM solutions, may I propose a simpler, free JAM supply method? It may offer an anonymous exit door with no fingerprints...
Mega.nz offers free 50GB storage (not 200GB as I thought, but still far in excess of the 18GB that our collection currently requires.)
Note: I WILL NOT BE REPEATING THIS STUFF. THIS IS A ONE-TIME POST!
Copy/paste this stuff if you have to.
The codename is MEGAJAM.
If someone knew that the
mega.nz account had a firstname of
Just.
And the familyname was Aminute.
And the email was
jam@... (which
anyone could monitor to see new emails at mailinator, com)
And the password would ALWAYS be the SAME as the one presented at
b9fx.com...
And let's say that any one of us could log in with those credentials ...
And because it's a a shared account, akin to a public toilet DON'T MESS IT UP FOR EVERYBODY! This fragile ecosystem depends on cooperation and trust. so don't do silly stuff like changing passwords, or deleting files.
Some Tentative MEGAJAM rules:
- The first rule of MEGAJAM is that YOU DO NOT TALK OF MEGAJAM. The credentials must never leave the Yahoo forum - and even there, you must be careful what you say.
Always fly below the copyright radar.
- You may add content, but do not delete files without community approval. i.e. we'd love you to add improved versions, but leave the original versions in place.
- All new or improved or edited file versions must be meaningfully named to distinguish them from existing versions. Do not overwrite existing files. Sometimes, new "improved" versions turn out to be inferior to previous versions. Tip: update the version number at the end of the file name and add an explanation of how it's better. e.g. JAM-xxxxx-v3-[Noise-reduced]
- As far as I am concerned, the scope of MEGAJAM is "JAM and JAM related", so you may add content related to JAM or popular JAM players - or perhaps other British radio comedy, if space allows.
If we hit the 50GB storage limit and need to pay for improved storage, we can revisit the contribution debate or curtail our scope.
- Video uploads are OK, if they are truly excellent, and delightful to most JAM fans.
I am uploading 60 random sample JAM files now.
Let's see how this goes.
Alternative strategies are always welcome !
Regards,
Mark
