Thanks, Dean!

As I mentioned at the time, I really didn't thing that Esther Rantzen was that bad, but if Paul doesn't like her then I'd agree that she has little chance of a return visit.

I agree with your comments about Will Self.  I listened to a show yesterday from before Clement's death (it just happened to be on a disk in my car).  The show certainly benefits from having someone in that style, although the episode was difficult to enjoy for obvious reasons.

It's something that's missing in the current group of regulars, so here's hoping they develop Will to fill this sort of a role.

These annual rankings are absolute essential reading

I'm not a fan of Esther Rantzen, but I thought she was actually quite good at speaking without hesitation, repetition or deviation. I'm not saying she was funny though! Personally, I think ER was good enough to be asked back.

I agree about Will Self, he needs to be on the programme more. He always looks a miserable sod and I can't remember ever seeing him smile let alone laugh. His demeanor could work well on JAM.

I liked the pantomime, it showed that JAM is still inventive and is prepared to try something new. Gyles was great in this edition and rightly took Dean's acclaimed gold medal for best player of 2016.
