Radio 4 posted about a JAM "First" which I know is not a First at all so who can find the show(s) that there were indeed 2 full minutes back to back.  I swear I listened to an older show that this was done recently.

Back-to-back minutes have happened many times during JAM's 50 year history.

The first example of this was Series 1 Episode 7 from 1967 when Aimi MacDonald spoke for a minute on "Schooldays", followed by Clement with "Cuttings Books". Another recent example would have been last year during Series 75 Episode 3 when Gyles did a minute on "Making A Paper Boat" followed by John Finnemore "A Wild Goose Chase". The example you linked to with Josie and Paul is from 2017, and not 2016 as it says first on the page!!!

I'm not sure we've ever had 3 successive minutes in a row yet, though...

Yes, I noticed your earlier reply, Dean, just after submitting mine!

Series 37 Episode 7 from August 2000 was the one. Sue Perkins did a minute on "Bath Time", followed by Jeremy Hardy and a minute on "Bringing Home The Bacon", and finally Tony Hawks with a minute on "Jumping To Conclusions". Three complete minutes in a single episode is rare enough, so I guess this three-in-a-row is the first and only occurrence so far...

That 2000 episode was the only ep which had 3 full minutes in a row. But there was an episode from 1981 which had four (non-consecutive) uninterrupted minutes in the whole programme, three of them by Clement Freud and one by Kenneth Williams. That's a pretty amazing feat in and of itself.

And to top it off, on Clement's final full minute, he actually went for 70 seconds. They let the clock run longer for him.

Thanks for all the answers JAMers.   As soon as I read the headline I knew they were wrong.
I wonder if this was the same BBC employee that touted David Tennant's minute on their facebook page.
I am sure that the BBC Encourages these type of headlines to get more Hits & Shares.

yes you are right... it dioesn't help that Nicholas pronounces these things to be "firsts" off the top of his head, of course
