Hi, I'm very glad to find this JAM group and become a member of it.

I have been an avid collector of (and listener to) JAM since the 1980's, when I began collecting hundreds of episodes on cassette (which I still have).

Some years ago I began sharing these recordings on WinMX. I believe that there are some people here who have downloaded from me (and I from them) at WinMX (where I still share today). My files are recognizable because of the particular format I developed for the labels -

eg, 'Just A Minute #229 (1977-01-05; s11e10) BATH NIGHT.mp3',

for I believe that the most important things to see in a LONG list of files are the show's title and then the episode number, and that the first topic's title should be in capitals and therefore easier to see. At the time when I began sharing the typical label at WinMX was something like -

'Just a Minute [2.3.72] Kenneth Williams',

which was not a mine of information, and the date was frequently wrong.

I used Dean Bedford's well-researched episode list to organize my collection into some order, and I also once received a kind gift from him of several episodes. Dean's list showed me what I was still lacking, and so I enlarged my collection over time. Others have devised labeling systems of their own, quite independently of mine.

My collection currently consists of 642 of the 673 radio shows (although that includes the 4 Silver Minutes shows and the Linda Smith Tribute), so I figure I am still lacking about 35 episodes as of 28 July 2007, so I am pretty happy with that result.

I am currently trying to work out if I have any episodes that are not yet available in the links, and if I find any I shall be happy to post them there. (I gather that the list of missing episodes is out of date?)

I want to thank everyone who has contributed to the file collections in the Links; I have found them a great help to bring my JAM collection up to date.

welcome aboard - nice to have you here :)

lots of newcomers recently - maybe you'd like to answer our newcomer
questions...

I thought it would be fun if we all introduced ourselves. I just put
together a questionaire - feel free to answer all the questions or not,
give your reasons or not, but I just thought it might be a light-hearted
way of starting discussion.

1. My favourite Just a Minute panellist is.... because....

2. If I could pick four people for my best ever Just a Minute panel,
they would be... because...

3. The person/s I would like to hear more of on Just a Minute is....
because...

4. The first time I heard Just a Minute, I thought...

5. I think if Kenneth Williams and Paul Merton had ever been on the show
together....

6. The funniest moment ever on Just a Minute was...

7. The reason I love listening to Just a Minute is...

8. If you've been to a Just a Minute recording, tell us about it!

9. If you've ever played Just a Minute yourself, tell us about it!

10. If I could meet a Just a Minute star and ask them one question, I
would want to meet..... and the question would be....

11. The Just a Minute star I most look like/act like is...

12. If I had to speak for 60 seconds on a subject without hesitation,
repetition or deviation, it would be...

13. Three key facts I'd like everyone on the group to know about me
are...
