About six~eight years ago the World Service Archive was opened up to the "public" after the iMp trial, which was an early version of iPlayer had closed. The World Service Archive is closed now. but the idea was for us to listen and then tag the programmes for archiving. There was a lot of dramas and documentaries, but the comedy section was from Day One a very empty place. As tags went in and I assume got curated the programmes got "locked" so you could still listen but not change the tags. Never saw any Clue, JAM or News Quiz in there; and I looked. As the then BBC 7 was using all three archives to fill programmes they would have been considered "in commercial use" and not made available during the trial.
