Hey Dean,
What an effort you've put in over the years. Geocities! :)
I remember Dreamweaver and CoffeCup as early HTML designers. Remember the sadness when I lost my site. :)
To think we're approaching 1,000 episodes.
I personally love Silver Minutes. It's one of the things that got me started in the show (what to do with the hole in a doughnut). Whether it counts as an official show, even with specific material I think you cannot because it would be four shows and most of it is repeats.
I don't think it's the reduction of shine from Clement, I think it's the lack of the camaraderie that the original 4 plus Nicholas had. In modern times, they've stopped touring (reducing the national interest instantly) and also, Paul is the main regular. It's become a different show than the four you had. Even when you had guests you at least had two regulars. The "feeling" totally changes when you get all the additional guests.
Yes, there's more choice and more modern choice, but I think that's not the major blame. It's also more the technology. We've moved to binging and netflix which means we're more likely to get embroiled in a series on one system, than connect to lots of different systems. They (and the BBC) need to find a more modern way to release their content.
Now all I've got to do is properly link to my mega app on my phone / tablet and sort out all the episodes I have got. My old iriver mp3 player (that I've had for close to 20yrs) is still playing and still has the same list of episodes I squeezed on to it, but with a recent phone upgrade I've got the old one now as a replacement media player so I can re-jig things.
Oh and Dean, we're getting older and less energy! Just accept it!
