Saturday update: I've now processed 240 Jammy upgrades!

Due to the Law of Diminishing Returns, the discovery of significant upgrades is rapidly decelerating so I will be able to upload the upgraded episodes soon.

WARNING: I am not paying any attention to whether the episodes are transcription service (TS) , world service (WS) , ABC, BBC, Radio Botswana - or whatever - so purists out there should keep their existing episodes in storage - just in case. But real purists would already know that.

Collecting Rule #1 - Never thrown anything away. You never know...

I have, however, ignored "hybrid" episodes that are mongrel edits of multiple original shows.

I really don't have the time, energy or enthusiasm to step through and catalogue each hybrid show's subjects and then edit them into new or existing shows.

(If anyone wants to take on that masochistic task, please let me know! I'll send them to you.)

Thanks to a certain mysterious benefactor whom I shall name Saint Paul, I have come into possession of 6,095 copies of JAM episodes from multitudinous (and some nefarious) sources.

Many of them are upgrades to our collection.

After only 3 days of curating, I have found 179 higher quality versions - lots have gone from 6 or 12 MB up to 25 or 50MB.

It's a delight to the ears - but it's a major slog through the many versions to evaluate their individual qualities.
Some files are bigger, but of lesser quality.
A few are smaller, but are more complete.
It's hard to automate the process.

All I know is, if I have to hear Nicholas saying "Welcome to JUST A MINUTE!" another thousand times, I may need to punch my cat.

And I don't even own a cat.
I might need to get one, just so I can punch it.
Blame JAM.

I'm sorry to tantalise you, but it will take a little more time to collate the archive before I put the upgrades into the JAM Jar.

Consider it a Christmas present in advance...
