I don't think you can - Yahoo message histories and files have been expunged.
I think email is the only remaining communication between group members.
It might be time to reconsider a home-grown JAM forum.

The only way Yahoo lets you read group messages now is by going through your inbox and reading each email one at a time!
Of course, if you've deleted any of them, or want to read messages posted before you joined, then you're out of luck as they no longer support online viewing.
The official group page now looks like this:
https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/just-a-minute/info
And, yes, every Yahoo group now has exactly the same generic image header as they've removed all custom images.
They still allow the creation of new groups but you're totally reliant on your email provider to deliver the messages.
I made a copy of the group archive and have been manually adding all new messages I receive to my own unofficial online version of the group:
https://tvrdb.com/jam/group
I did toy with the idea of creating a proper forum, something which Mark did back in 2013 for a short while, but as there as so few of us who actually post here anymore, it would end up being dormant most of the time.
Maybe a more general radio forum with a JAM section might work, but then there are probably plenty of those out there already...

It might make sense to open a new Group (with all the old features that
Yahoo doesn't now support) at :
just-a-minute@groups.io
The original posts you can find in Simon's archive of the Yahoo group here:

I belonged to several Yahoo groups but only one migrated to IO. It's been a great success while those that stayed with Yahoo are withering away. Just a thought.

I never use the web site, except on rare instances when I want to find an old post.
Regardless, if the group wisdom is to move, I'm happy with that.
I think Dean should be the one to set it up, given that he runs this group.

happy to follow the consensus, it is annoying the changes.
Would be happy to hear from a few more people.

I think it's wise to leave Yahoo behind.
It's been ossifying for a long time now.
groups.io looks quite usable.... or I could knock up a fully-featured forum
at nylon.net if people wanted more than a mailing list solution.
Or Dean could host it at his domain, if you're still excited by JAM, Dean.
Just thinkin'

Hi all
Out of interest, I created the
https://groups.io/g/jam list so you can have a play with it.
Email to
jam@groups.io
Have a play around with it and we can put our heads together again soon.

Oops. I should have added...
Subscribe:
jam+subscribe@groups.io
Unsubscribe:
jam+unsubscribe@groups.io
And it looks like
groups.io offers a lot more than a simple email list, so a forum might not be necessary!

thanks very much Mark. Have been travelling - we don't seem to have many others weighing in, I guess the reality is there are now just a dozen or so posting...
Anyway - I think we should take up Mark's offer and move to the group he suggested.
Maybe it should have a wider compass - Radio Four comedy or something like that? I say that only because it seems very unlikely there will be new JAMs made with a new host.
I've said it before but will say again - thanks very much for your collection of shows Mark - I hope I can continue to make use of them. :)

Thanks Dean.
I didn't want to tread on the toes of your historical leadership of the JAM
army.
(I think I can make you the new group's owner/moderator - if you like. I
have no desire to be the boss.)
When creating the list at jam.groups.io I *did* have to think about the new
group's scope and description.
I included *all* BBC radio comedy, since we often go off-topic in the Yahoo
group, especially when JAM was off-air.
I suspect there will not be any new JAM for *at least* a year, so off-topic
discussions may be the only way we JamFans will stay in touch.
I bet the Beeb is desperately searching for a new presenter with:
- an unshakeable belief that he/she can perform perfect foreign accents,
- a penchant for gaffes, and
- an ability to be simultaneously pompous and obsequious
:-)
I liked Old Nick, but he really *was* a duffer. Hence his comedic appeal.

I am glad that a group is being formed and agree opening it up to radio 4 & 4 extra comedy is a good idea.
I am still recovering from back surgery in February ( before the lockdown here in the Seattle area) and have spent more time listening to my old fashioned mp3 player than tv/video viewing.
Thank you to all for archive sharing by the way it has kept me sane the past few months.
I have mixed far about a new host for JAM - Hesitation is fine with me
I will add getting on the new page in my To do list for this week.

Some of us are not posting because we have nothing to add to the discussion.
However, if everyone does move over to the new location, I will be very sorry to see you leave, and I wish you all the best of luck. It was a great group.

In qualifications, you missed out having an anecdote about working in Scotland in their early life, which would be inevitably followed by an attempt at Scottish accent and an awkward moment for everyone including the listeners!

JAM definitely would not work without a live audience. COVID will likely prevent any radio recording gatherings for the foreseeable future (maybe a year or more?). However, I would be surprised if it does not return once it can be recorded in front of a live audience for the following reasons:
1. Many of the players are incredibly loyal to the show; there is no way that Graham Norton, Stephen Fry, Sue Perkins or Paul Merton need the £200 (or whatever the fee is today). They regularly choose to work on JAM because they want to do it. If you then add semi-regulars Julian Clary, Pam Ayers, Marcus Brigstocke, Gyles Brandreth, Jenny Eclair, Sheila Hancock, Tony Hawks, Ross Noble and Liza Tarbuck, you have a large group of players who want to do this show.
2. It remains a popular program on Radio 4
3. Tickets for the live shows are always heavily oversubscribed
I was therefore surprised by Dean’s concern over whether JAM might have finished. I know however that he has some good back channels on JAM. Dean - Do you have any specific feedback? Or are you just concerned?
If it does come back, we will certainly need a new chair. I personally don’t think we need the same formula and same type of chair. ISIHAC eventually hit on a slightly different format with Jack Dee. Maybe JAM will do the same? When we have this discussion before, Gyles Brandreth was always the person identified by most as a good potential chair and indeed he stepped in for Nicholas when he was ill. Maybe however the producers will want to identify a younger person who can change the show to appeal to a younger radio 4 audience? In the same way that Private Eye chose the 25 year old Ian Hislop as editor, maybe they will skip a couple of generations? Whoever it is, I believe they should go for a regular chair rather than someone who changes every week. The chair role in JAM is a fulcrum around whom everyone makes their contributions. Unlike Have I Got News For You, it is a very skilled job performed in real time.
If you were JAM producer:
1. In your appointment of a new chair, what would you be looking to achieve?
2. Which person or people might fit as chair?
Yours
Julian

My lack of participation lately hasn't been a lack of enthusiasm. More a
lack of time with a job, freelance work, a wife and a daughter.
And about a billion obsessions in addition to Just a Minute.
(Lately I've been reading a lot of 2000 AD).
Anyway, I haven't signed up for the new group yet but will.

hello again all - I will start a different thread for comments on the show's future and possible host so we can keep this one for discussion on the group's future.
I am happy to go with the consensus so if you have a view, please speak up - we don't want anyone to feel left behind.
When the group started it was essentially as a means of enabling people to swap recordings of shows. This is way back in 2006 and I had spent every weekend the previous two years copying shows (Onto cassettes, can you believe it!) and wanted somewhere I could point people to so I didn't have to keep doing this. In a way the group is still based around sharing recordings if of a very different sort.
We can still keep this going of course or have both this and the io one going. In any event it isn't my intention to just close this group immediately. Probably I'd keep it going for a bit and see if it was still attracting any conversation, or if all the talk had graduated to whatever new list or forum is decided on.
Personally I quite like the idea of a web based forum as someone (Mark I think?) suggested.
thanks all for the support and interest,
cheers, dean
