Tonight's first round must have been the first time in quite a while
that Merton's been on a show and not been heard from in a whole round!
(Of course, now that I've said that, someone's going to pop up and
tell me it happened just the other week and I have forgotten!).

I thought Marcus Brigstocke was good value as always, although I was
glad that Nicholas Parsons and Paul intervened to stop some of his
rather more graphic anecdotes! Janey I hadn't heard of before but she
seemed to do very well. Freud was pretty much his usual self.

Overall, another very good episode.

can't wait to hear it, although it sounds again like something similar that Nicholas had to do last time Ross Noble was in Edinburgh.  it had to do with the subject of 'mime' and Ross actually did miming on the radio and Nicholas had to get up and physically stop him, and then goes into a very long and very boring explanation, especially with Paul who challenged after a while, even though Nick says that he was the first to challenge even though no one challenged for close to 30 some odd seconds.

I thought it was one of the best of the season so far. Lots of
interaction and joking around. I especially enjoyed Janey Godley saying
she liked being interrupted and Paul replying "you must be ecstatic
about how things are going then".

Janey I like very very much. She's got pluck and a goodly share of wit.
We should have her back soon. Marcus deserves to be promoted to
regular - he has the timing and the wit and competitiveness that suits
the show so well. Clement was in the best form I've heard him in for a
long time. Paul was good as always, perhaps a little quieter than usual,
but great value all the same.

That was a lot of fun.

I agree about Marcus being made a regular, he seems to have a good
knack for winnning the show and he's won (or being join winner) in his
last 4 shows. He's always getting involved on the buzzer with sharpe
challenges, which is unusual for someone with such little experience.

I also agree about Marcus. A good new regular who should appear more. I
attended the recordings at the Mermaid he did last year, and he is a
very charming, amusing chap, and got the audience on his side I
thought!!

I always thought Marcus would do well from the first time he appeared with Rob Brydon in 2004 in Edinburgh.  and I'm glad that he has appeared more often, I just they'd bring Rob Brydon back, and Lee Mack for that matter.

In that years (2004) Edinburgh shows I thourgh Marcus was prehaps the
worst player, but with Rob Brydon, Lee Mack and Dara O'Briain he was
prehaps up against stiff competition. That years Edinburgh shows were
in my opinion the best in the last few years and haven't being
bettered since.
I think it's a shame that none of the other players have made many
more JAM appearances.
Marcus did however seem to have a good grasp of the rules right from
the off and he's progressed well ever since.
