scratching an itch

One of the pleasures of randomly playing from the JAM archive on my
iPod is hitting new wonders.

This morning picked 324 - getting at an itch in the middle of my back.
Jan Ravens as a first timer does a sterling job (I also love looking
at Dean's cast list to find out about these people - his comments on
her & this episode are apposite). Anyway, she held her own against an
onslaught from Derk and Kenneth. And did well without the usual
galantry to first timers.

The old-mans sexism of Nic stood out - it is probably the thing that
most grates about those shows is the attitude to women - I can stand
Ken's camp anger, but sometimes Nic comes over as a bit much - and
gets in a bit of knot here. Some of it is generational galantry, but...

A real treat is Peter's cataloguing of the categories of challenges -
sharp, good, excellent etc - and his mordant wit collecting and
commenting on them.
