Topic: Plea for Radio 4 downloads

Message 1 / 19

Hello All,

With a lengthy stay in hospital looming, I'm desperate for any
downloads of some of my favourite R4 comedy shows.

With a nod to JAM, and a dusty sigh to the memory of the much-missed
Linda Smith, I'd love anybody out there with episodes of The News Quiz
to share them.

Failing that, the second series of The Consultants or Giles Wemmbley
Hogg would be much appreciated.

i know I had requested this a while ago, in regards to the radio version of 'Whose Line', someone said they'd upload, i'm just wondering if that person has forgotten or if they've just been inundated with any real life problems, and therefore hasn't been able to.

only cuz I think since other shows like 'Clue' and 'The Now Show' and so on have been uploaded, something like the radio version of 'Whose Line' would be a no brainer.

I'm curious about one particular radio series that I think is marvelous.  It was something put together by the Comedy Store Players, a sort of series of improvised comedy plays, but they all had a similar theme, in which it dealt with a family over many generations, I think it was called 'The Masterson Inheritance'.  if anyone has got copies of that, that would be awesome.

Yupp I surely did, trouble is I have 160 or so episodes, if you want to stick to Linda Smith we will need
to ascertain which episodes she was in. Sticking to Linda in the first place may be good to keep the effort
to a reasonable level.

Trouble is these references (my normal sources of episode info) are only partially complete; however, there
may be enough overlap to get most, if not all, of Linda's episodes.

Well, to keep it simple, why not upload a couple of series from 98/99
and into the noughties? Although I'm keen on Linda, I'm also a big
fan of the much missed Alan Coren and like Jeremy Hardy, so there
will surely be great stuff on most shows from this period. However,
I'm conscious of the fact that this is taking up your time, so if you
would rather do it another time then that's fine. Thanks for all your
efforts so far!

OK so The News Quiz is one of the programmes I have not 'sorted' yet.
I have uploaded some from roughly the era you requested but they are with the following caveats

The series may not be complete
The programmes may not be trimmed
The programmes may not be normalised for level (the same loudness)

As per the rest they will be found at
Links -> Other Shows -> The News Quiz

Enjoy!
