I'm saving BikerDon some time--- I recently uploaded The Masterson Inheritance for friend, so links were ready to share!
Just go to Links, then Other
Programs, and you will find a folder called "The Masterson Inheritance.
Inside is a link to a self-extracting rar that
contains all three series, the two Christmas episodes and the "lost"
episode.
But wait, there's more: I've also posted links to three archives containing:
Series 1 and the first Christmas Episode.
(or click here!)
Series 2
(or click here!)
Series 3, the second Christmas episode, and the "lost" episode."
(clicky!)
They're all on megaupload, except for the big "mess o'
mastersons," which is on gigasize. I'll upload to another service
as well.
I love this program. And most people I've forced into listening have as well.
In case you've not met the Mastersons, there is a wonderful program guide
here:
The Masterson
Inheritance was an improvised comedy series broadcast on BBC Radio 4
between 1993 and 1995. It was billed as "an improvised historical saga
of a family at war with itself. No script, no rehearsals, just an
audience and a couple of microphones." There were three series and two
Christmas specials....and one "lost" episode never broadcast. The
reasons will become clear once you take a listen!
All episodes starred:
Josie Lawrence
Paul Merton
Phelim McDermott
Caroline Quentin
Lee Simpson
Jim Sweeney
If I had to pick a favorite program, well, I'd pick two. Probably
"Masterson Rides Again" from the third series, and "The Mastersons Go
Down" from the second series.

I know this has a real cult following but I've never heard one - so I'll
have to have a listen.

I hope you enjoy it!
Hmmm. It's been a bit since I've listened to the first episode ----I'm
not certain it's the best of the bunch. Does anyone remember? I'd hate
for Dean (or anyone!) to start with a dog of a story!
I'm off to New Zealand for three weeks, and will have an old ipod full
of MI, JAM, ISIHAC, and various other treats for the flights, and the
long drives. (have no fear, a slightly newer one will have loads of
music!!) I'll also be listening to the radio, of course...looking
forward to hearing how my compatriots over there do things!

I've only heard a few here and there, but I've been dying to hear more. but from what I have heard, it is very funny and enjoyable. I think you'll like it, as it showcases the exceptional improv abilities of Paul Merton and company.
