Another individual that more than qualifies for the Brief But
Memorable category is Eddie Izzard.
He made two very memorable appearances on the program back in 1994
during the Edinburgh Fringe, and he was absolutely fantastic. He fit
into the show right away, playing around with the rules to generate
comedy, and being quite inventive and surreal during his talks on the
subjects.
one thing I remember was his particular stance on the length of
letters for a word would be allowed to challenge for repetition,
which I thought was brilliant as it really sent the show up
exceptionally.
I've only been fortunate to catch bits of Eddie's stand up routines
when they were broadcast on BBC America, and he was dolled up in
glitzy clothes with make up, lipstick and eyeshadow and all that.
I remember he made one appearance on Whose Line is it Anyway, and he
was quite good with the improv, even though he had a very reserved
and subtle quality to his performance.
Now, he's probably well known here in the states for taking part in
the FX series 'The Riches' along with Minnie Driver, as a pair of
traveling gypsy con artists who settle in a mansion and take over the
identities of a rich family who have passed away.
anyone else care to share their thoughts on Mr. Izzard?
