Here's a list of people who won first time out - Derek Nimmo (first
show!), Tim Rice (equal first with three others), Linda Smith (equal
first with two others), Gyles Brandreth, Dale Winton, Richard Morton,
Neil Mullarkey (equal first with one other), Libby Purves, Victoria Wood
(equal first with one other), Jo Brand, Tim Brooke-Taylor, Mariella
Frostrup (equal first with one other), Brian Johnston, Jan Ravens, John
Sergeant, Lucy Bartlett, Jeremy Beadle (equal first with one other), Ann
Bryson (equal first with one other, only appearance), Ted Robbins (equal
first with two others, only appearance)

The most recent is John Sergeant on a TV edition in 1999, on radio the
most recent is Linda Smith, also in 1999.

It's always hard to be definitive about this sort of question. I thought
Tim was very good at the game and very funny so it probably has more to
do with a decision on his part than anything else. There are so many of
these people who appear on other shows that I doubt his appearances on
ISIHAC would be a reason for the producer not hiring him, though it may
be that he himself decided to devote himself to Clue. A lot of people
don't enjoy participating in JAM, maybe Tim was/is one of these.
