Topic: Nichloas Parsons doing a charity event in March

I've just found the group and thought I'd mention a charity event that
Nicholas Parsons is doing March 12th 2008. I know about it as a a good
friend is on a committee organising the event and managed to 'procure'
Nicholas to host it. Basically, it's JAM with 4 non-celebrities....so
far they've got John Sergeant and Opik Lembit and will get 2 more. I'm
helpiing out with the format of the JAM bit as my friend knew I'm a
long time fan of JAM and have many now- hissing cassettes from the
70's to prove it!

I'm looking forward to meeting Nicholas as the last time I saw/met him
was in 1976 at the Paris studios for a recording of JAM...wonderful
memories.

I've added the full details of the event to the calendar on this
forum. If any of the members would like to attend then I'm sure you'd
enjoy the event. It'll be in London.

And if you'd like any more details then feel free to email me or take
a look at the calendar for the contact details. The event is in aid of
Norwood Child Care trust.

And you know, it's near Potland Place in London, so if you get out at
the right station you can utter those immortal words...."I've come all
the way from Great Portland Street!"

Thanks everyone...I'm going to enjoy being a member of this group.
Ian Fidler.

If you look up a bit, you'll see a discussion that involves John
Sergeant, who is certainly well versed at the game. I think he'd make
a great chairman, too.

Some months ago Nicholas presented a Radio 4 documentary from India or
Pakistan where he was asked to host an impromptu episode of JAM with
people at the location, I think it was a college; extracts were
included in the programme. He was a little nonplussed but took it in
good part. It was a little chaotic but it shows how far the programme
has travelled.

If any newer members didn't see this post or haven't check the
calendar lately this is just a reminder that Nicholas P is hosting a
charity Just a Minute event (not affiliated to the BBC!) on Wednesday
12th March. It's billed as a political edition in that there are no
professional comedians just politicians including Lembit Opik and John
Sergeant (who has been on JAM).

It's all in aid of a children's home charity called Norwood
Ravenswood. We'd love it to be a great event and well attended. If
you're in London on that day then book yourself a ticket! For the full
details then here's the link: www.norwood.org.uk/justaminute or
contact Candice Mendes Da Costa on 020 8420 6898.

Personally, my involvement as a long standing JAM devotee has been to
draw up the subjects for this 50 minute version plus devise a fun
bingo event featuring the names of previous cast members.

If you'd like to email me direct then please feel free.

Thanks, Ian Fidler
