Topic: Why hasn't Andy Hamilton ever appeared on JAM?

He's a stalwart of the R4 6:30pm schedules, but why hasn't Andy
Hamilton ever appeared on Just A Minute?

In my mind he'd be a perfect choice for a panellist: a quick wit, good
ad-libber, self-deprecating, etc.

I did hear a rumour that he doesn't get on with Paul Merton... maybe
there's some truth in this?

I don’t think that’s true as Andy Hamilton has appeared several times on Have I Got News For You, often sitting alongside Paul Merton. The chemistry between them when they were sat together was electric! J

I don't have any great insight except to say that a lot of people do turn
the show down because they think the format would make it too difficult for
them to get their material out or be too constraining. Remember a lot of
the other panel games, ISIHAC, News Quiz, HIGNFY are semi or more
pre-prepared too.

I think Andy would be great too on JAM - let's hope he does get a run...

I remember hearing his appearances on ISIHAC, and I have often wondered about why certain people tended to appear on certain panel games than others.

I thought perhaps there was some sort of class distinction between those who appeared on JAM and those who appeared on ISIHAC, where you've got people like Andy Hamilton, Bill Tidy, Phil Jupitus and Jack Dee appearing there, but not on JAM.

but, that idea went right out the window when Phil Jupitus finally appeared on JAM towards the end of last season and I think is set to appear again this season.  Also, the same goes for Jack Dee I believe.

as for Andy Hamilton, who knows?
