That is true, Gladys did seem to crop up quite a bit, almost similarly to whenever Kenneth would mention Maudie Fiddleworth, Fun with a Frankfurter.

Derek's party piece wasn't necessarily something he generally repeated like a name or a word or, but more of a general idea, the fact that no matter what subject he was given, he always worked in his travels to every damn place on the planet, although he frequently mentioned Hong Kong and other Asian countries, and would often be picked up for deviation because of it.
