I received this note from a member - as he wrote to me rather than the
whole group I'm assuming he wants to remain anonymous. But I thought I'd
pass on his sentiments as it's really many of you, rather than me, that
have made the links part what it is...

Thank you
at 50 i have been listening to BBC radio comedy for some time and it was
only through the
internet that it has realy become possible for me to finaly keep all
these great programs at the moment i have 167 episodes, and in fact
almost the only reason i have a computer
is to listen to Them

As one of the ones who has contributed links to this group, I must say
it has been a great pleasure to do so. Amazingly, I've only been
familiar with JAM since 1999, when an online friend sent me cassettes
with about 10 miscellaneous programs. And over the last 9 years,
through the generosity of other people online, my collection grew by
leaps and bounds. Who knew that in that time I'd go from having a
meager 10 programs to having nearly every single JAM broadcast ever made.

I honestly never thought it would happen, really. :) And it's nice to
be able to share them with others who haven't heard them, and to keep
this chain of generosity going.

good stuff Linda :)

Of course the main appreciation above all else must go to the BBC.

It's amazing to have a show that's been going for 40 years - has had
most of its main players including its original star die - and yet I
reckon it might just be as good as it's ever been. The season just gone
was very strong. There's no way the show has "jumped the shark"... at
least in my opinion.

he's on 94 so that milestone should come up next year I guess.

It's going to be hard fitting everyone into the shows next season, I
think. Paul, Clement, Graham, Tony, Chris Neill, Marcus, Sue Perkins,
Pam Ayres, Julian Clary and Gyles will all need to be there somewhere
and I guess they'd want to find slots for Stephen Fry, Ross Noble and
Jenny Eclair if available. And as they were so good on their first
appearances in the past year they'll surely want to give Chris Addison,
Phill Jupitus and Jack Dee another go some time sooner rather than
later... and try some other newcomers. Hard to get all of those people
in...
