Re: ISIHAC - Sad news......

There are few people for whom the word "un-replaceable" is true but I
have a strong feeling that Humph was one of them. There are also only
a few broadcasters for whom there can be such a sense of loss e.g.
Brian Redhead, Brian Johnston and John Peel that would rate with
Humph

As to the future - It's not that no one could do the job (Fry springs
to mind) but I'm not convinced that the other regulars would want to
do it without him - and that dynamic that was quintessentiual "Clue"
would I believe be too different.

35 years is a good innings for any show and 85 years is one heck of a
whack for any one. Monday evenings will be a little more bare now. I
know there were steps to bring back the ISIHAC links on this group.
Can I encourage those who are doing this to continue their efforts so
that we can all enjoy Humph for many a year to come.

It's a sad sad day - Our loss is Mornington Crescents Gain -

without Willie Rushton, the fact that it managed to keep going for as
long as it did is a miracle.

One wonders what's next for the ISIHAC team?
