I've only been to two JAM recordings but really, there isn't a lot of
gold left on the cutting room floor. I can only think of one incident.
Paul Merton went into this brilliant monologue which had reached
something like 50 seconds and it was very very funny, classic Merton
surrealism. He then clearly accidentally used the word "shit". He
immediately stopped and hung his head in shame, and the audience laughed
and applauded of course. Ross Noble pressed his buzzer and said "are you
allowed to say shit on the radio?" He finished off the minute.

There have been a few incidents of the word shit going to air on JAM and
as Paul had been so very funny I wondered if they might leave it in. But
they didn't. I wondered after if they might have let it go if Ross
hadn't repeated the word.

But that was it in three hours of live JAM. I wonder if they would have
enough material to make this sort of unedited edition worthwhile. Anyone
else got any stories of very funny moments at a live recording that
didn't make it to air?
