Topic: More News Quiz?

Hi Don,

By any chance have you any further series of TNQ, other than the ones
you very kindly uploaded a few months ago? Preferably any series
featuring the late Linda Smith. I'm in the process of writing something
about her.

Regards

Apologies lapsedcat, I see I have not yet replied, well I have now but....

Anyway I have plenty of series of TNQ - on my hard disk I have series 28, 39-64 inclusive.
I may have more on my backup disk drive - I will get it out of store and let you know.

You can check which episodes have Linda Smith in them at
http://www.radiolistings.co.uk/programmes/news_quiz__the__ok_.html

It would be good to know your name as well

Cheers

Hi Don,

Good man! If possible, could you provide series 49-54 inclusive?

I remain your obedient servant,

Tyler

is there a complete list of News Quiz eppies? Listing by series sounds
promising

Check out Don's link, Dean.

How's NZ these days BTW?

Who's taken over as New Zealand's Greatest Living Icon,™ now that Sir
Edmund's no longer with us?

For one - follow the link in my previous email, that's what it does.
I really am surprised you didn't know such sites exist, there are many, I use a few, not all.
The sites listed below are those I use most often.
They all contain episode guides for Just a Minute.

News Quiz episode listings can be found at

http://epguides.com/HaveIGotNewsforYou/radio.shtml **

http://www.radiolistings.co.uk/programmes/news_quiz__the__ok_.html

http://home.comcast.net/~jal2.03/k2o/news-quiz.pdf

** I have no idea why this is in the 'HaveIGotNewsforYou' folder other than the word News maybe.
I must email John and ask him.

Home pages of these sites for those that are not 100% computer literate are below, apologies to
those that are but I know, from experience, not to assume anything any more.

http://epguides.com/menu/radio.shtml

http://home.comcast.net/~john.lucas/misc/

http://home.comcast.net/~john.lucas/misc/
This one is/has been replaced by this one gradually, not sure how far it has got yet
http://gbcc.wikispaces.com/
These Guys have taken it on themselves to record and archive all BBC Radio drama, comedy,
quizzes and some factual. Amazing.
As the lead Guy says - "... has found that work and family make it difficult to keep up with
the monsters that we've created!"

There are many others, some for single programs and some for many programs like those above.
Surely you must know of this one

Dear Don

What I meant by a complete list of The News Quiz, was a complete list
of, specifically, The News Quiz, ie, something similar to my list of
JAM with cast lists for EVERY show. We don't seem to have that yet
though the epguides.com one comes closest. It would be a worthwhile
project for someone to take on to complete it as it is so close at the
moment.

I was involved for a time in working with John Lucas so am very aware of
his outstanding work in particular.

I am also aware that many other sites have copied my JAM work, in almost
all cases without asking or acknowledging the years of work involved.
But the horse has well and truly bolted on that one.

thanks anyway :)

Dean

Of course you can find a great deal of info of the News Quiz
performers from Dean's site and other places online, but of course
you'd need much more than that-what were the stories, permissions to
use scripts, etc. Then you don't know if people will refer to it. How
long did it take the JAM site to become popular?

Impossible to answer as I've never closely monitored hits. I don't know
that even now you'd say the site is all that popular really - I get
about 40 hits a day on the front page.

But it is the site's 9th anniversary this month.
