I enjoyed reading the ones posted so far. The fellow transcriber of the
QI shows - good luck!

Santa was very kind and sent me the DVD of the first season of QI and
(needless to say) I loved it. I do hope the other seasons are eventually
released.

Anyway - my answers

1. My favourite Just a Minute panellist is KENNETH WILLIAMS because he
was just the King of the World. He was such an entertainer and brought a
special drama to the show that no-one has ever been able to replace - or
is likely to be able to.

2. If I could pick four people for my best ever Just a Minute panel,
they would be KENNETH WILLIAMS, PAUL MERTON, PETER JONES and GRAHAM
NORTON because Kenneth as above - Paul clearly next best. I loved the
way Peter poked fun at everyone and didn't take things too seriously.
And Graham is just different and very very funny.

3. The person/s I would like to hear more of on Just a Minute is STEPHEN
FRY and ROSS NOBLE because they are just too damn good for words.

4. The first time I heard Just a Minute, I thought that Kenneth Williams
is just crazy!

5. I think if Kenneth Williams and Paul Merton had ever been on the show
together, I think hair would have been flying. Paul would have loved
teasing Kenneth and Kenneth would have loved the challenge.

6. The funniest moment ever on Just a Minute was... it's so hard. But I
can't go past Stephen Fry starting off "body language" by saying "my
bottom speaks fluent German..."

7. The reason I love listening to Just a Minute is the unpredictability,
the fights, the surreal moments, the banter, the fun.

8. If you've been to a Just a Minute recording, tell us about it! I went
to a recording in Edinburgh in 2002. Paul, Clement, Ross Noble and Greg
Proops played the first game, then Sean Lock replaced Greg for the
second. It was great. Just watching people was interesting. For example,
if you listened to the programme you would think Clement was a right
sourpuss and grump, yet I'd say he laughed more at the others than
anyone else. In comparison Paul stared out at the audience, not smiling
at all at the remarks of the others.

9. If you've ever played Just a Minute yourself, tell us about it! I did
have a go once. It was difficult to keep going for much more than 10
seconds. You become very conscious of every word. But I enjoyed it.

10. If I could meet a Just a Minute star and ask them one question, I
would want to meet..... and the question would be.... I am a journalist
so I'd want to ask a question that I might get an interesting response
from rather than one they'd evade. For example, I'd love to ask Kenneth
why he felt so ashamed of his sexuality but I wouldn't get a good answer
if I did. So I'll settle for just asking Paul to explain why he loves
doing JAM so much. He doesn't need to do it and I'd just love to know
what he loves about performing on the show.

11. The Just a Minute star I most look like/act like is... I think I
look a little like Derek Nimmo...

12. If I had to speak for 60 seconds on a subject without hesitation,
repetition or deviation, it would be Just A Minute!

13. Three key facts I'd like everyone on the group to know about me
are...

I'm a senior journalist in New Zealand.

I love laughing.

I would love to spend a year in Britain - just looking around.
