I don't know how well-known this knowledge is, but Doctor Who scriptwriter Paul Cornell has for years hosted a rendition of "Just a Minute" at the annual Doctor Who convention Gallifrey One, in Los Angeles.

I was in attendance this year and got a voice recording of the whole thing, and I thought people might be interested. Doctor Who and Just a Minute lovers are perhaps a niche audience, but there's sure to be someone.

(Sorry for the audio quality; it was recorded from the audience and then treble-boosted in Audacity afterwards. It really was a lot worse in its original form.)

The panellists were:
(1) Toby Hadoke (stand-up comedian, and writer of the award-winning "Moths Ate My Doctor Who Scarf")
(2) Phil Collinson (producer of the Eccleston/Tennant era of DW for the past four years)
(3) Wendy Padbury (played companion Zoe Heriot alongside Patrick Troughton)
(4) Frazer Hines (played companion Jamie McCrimmon alongside Patrick Troughton's Doctor in the 1960s)

Toby and Phil  | Wendy and Frazer

The timer was on an iPod and the whistle was Paul Cornell saying "beep". Quite an interesting production, but laden with inside jokes about kilts and sparkly jumpsuits that I'm afraid won't mean much unless you're a fan.

Not to brag I hosted a version of JAM at a couple Seattle area sci
fi/British media conventions in the late 90's ( Anglicon and
Norwestcon) with lots of help from my friends. One friend who is good
with electronics set up a system- no buzz but he used those 'tap
lights" for the panelist to hit and those were hooked up to some
2x4's that had Bright Light bulbs attached- when the "tap light " was
hit the row of lights lite up in front of the panelist. It was all
connected to a 'control' box that I could reset. And I had a standard
stop watch and toy whistle.
Both conventions had large Dr Who followings ( Anglicon was for all
British Media) and I did use some Whovian/ british and Sci fi
subjects. Strangely the one that the panelist had the most trouble
with was 'sex' ( we are truing to keep it somewhat clean )
The panelist were mainly friends of mine who had heard the show but
we did have one friend who is a magican and semi pro actor who was
very good at it. And we did managed to coax a few from the small
audience.
Thanks to Dean-who provided me with a copy of the JAM arena show-
I edited that down to be an "Intro" to people wandering in the room
as we set things up.
While we never got a big crowd we had a nice group that enjoyed
our version of JAM. Sadly with Anglicon no longer a convention and my
working weekends I don't get to host the show anymore and the JAM
electronics is sitting at the "builders" house in a box--maybe
someday we will be able to do it just once more. Miriam

Fantastic stuff! Thanks for your trouble. "Just a Minute" and vintage
"Doctor Who" are two of my absolute favourite things.
