Hello - we were just discussing this last week here, so you might like to
look back through the old posts.

But in short - the panellists have the option of looking at the subjects
when they arrive at the recording. Most do and some write a few notes - you
can see some referring to them if you go to a recording. Some, like
Clement, generally didn't look in advance.
