The audio on this wasn't bad before, but the upgrade is pristine.

I'm surprised; isn't the online RN feed as good as it gets? If not, what would be a better source?

There are three problems with the sound quality of RN's ra feed:
(1) Everything's in mono. It's 2009 and they don't have stereo.
(2) The bitrate is lower than, say, BBC iPlayer
(3) The sound is very flat -- much quieter than iPlayer

That's not to say it's bad -- for the mid-90s episodes they're
playing now, it's an upgrade over our current mp3s. But the
late-90s and 2000s mp3s already sound better than ABC RN,
so I hope they skip those and loop back to episode 1 instead. ;)

I'm surprised it is in mono; I remember many years ago all the AM stations (in Melbourne, if not Australia) were said to have changed to stereo all at the same time, in one swell foop. A pity if they've let it all go away.
