Topic: ISIHAC at www.archive.org - OT

Can I make a point again which I've mentioned previously.

Before accessing the ISIHAC page on the archive.org website, do remember to
turn off Javascript in your browser first, or you risk a computer crash.

This can happen on any archive.org page because of their over-use of
Javascript. But the risk is very much greater on the ISIHAC page: most other
pages have only a half dozen radio shows on them, but the ISIHAC page has
hundreds.

The embedded media player functions entirely in Javascript, and it seems to
run a separate script for each show. The safe approach is to disable
Javascript, so that the embedded player can't run, and instead access the
files from the ordinary hypertext links on the page, one at a time.

This is something I did not know. I use a Mac - and have not seen any issues at all. I probably should have re uploaded everything to mediafire rather than archive.org - but I was so peeved with them at the time. Maybe I should reconsider things...

No need to reconsider. The page works fine, even on a PC, provided that
Windows users just remember to disable javascript.

This is something I did not know. I use a Mac - and have not seen any issues at all.

That's because Macs have a proper operating system - i.e.  Unix  =o)

Well - I wasn't going to mention it, but you are of course correct.

(Direct all "windoze is far superior" comments to Don!)
