jamfan - I tried to reply to you direct as this thread doesn't seem to
interest anyone else, but the address you use came back as having been
discontinued. If you email me direct off-list with a usable address,
I'll be happy to continue this debate.

cheers, D

Yes, I was thinking about mailing direct to you for the same reasons. However, I've been in the States and only just got back, not sure why my address isn't working, but I only use it for communications with this group so maybe its lapsed, I'll look into it.... It isn't an easy address to type, those are 3 underscores and not dashes that I've used there.

Meanwhile, some interesting info I picked up in the USA which is exactly relevant to our discussion. Viacom are not renewing their lease on their Times Square studio. The reason? "It doesn't make sense for a broadcaster to pay top commercial property rates".

Maybe a little more commercial pressure on the BBC would see more money going into programming and less into London weightings.

Dean,

Yahoo de-activate mail and clear your inbox from time to time in an effort to get you to upgrade to a charged account. My mail is now re-activated if you wish to continue the discussion via mail.

Perhaps better would be to send any response to lufcok64@... - an e-mail service that dosn't wipe all your correspondence irretrievably.

Dave
