Hello Paul,

When the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Stuff (I made the last bit up) did a review of BBC7 in 2004 he/she/it stated that the average audience age for Radio 4 was 52 and the average "adult" age for BBC7 was 45. However given that BBC7 has dedicated children's programming the average age across all listeners was 41.

The final report of the above review (at http://www.culture.gov.uk/images/consultations/BBC7forDCMS18March04final.pdf) gives some more statistics for those who are interested, for example the significant south-of-England and male bias.
