I think Jack will be great as host (as Dean said, he matches the deadpan style best). But I do think the show misses Humph.

I saw Clue being recorded in Manchester last month and bought the DVD of the previous tour at the kiosk to watch later. The DVD contained some of the same jokes that I had heard live with Jack Dee, but even though I knew the punchines already this time, they were still funnier with Humph - maybe it's the personality that let's him get away wit some things. I am a big fan of Jack Dee though so I think this is a great choice.

Regarding Nicholas Parsons, I think replacing him earlier on when the show was taken in a more serious manner, you probably could have replaced him. But these days there's a lot of relaxation of the rules, so much humour is made at his expense and minor incompetencies (not the right word but you get my meaning - his mistakes and inconsistencies perhaps is a better way to explain), that to replace him with someone straight-laced wouldn't quite fit.

I would nominate Paul Merton to take over - not style-wise but because he clearly has a real affection for the show and would work to carry it on. However whether or not the show would suffer without him as a panellist....I guess that is a problem.
