You should have made it clear when you mentioned Clue, that you were not referring to scoring but to the editing out of recorded content. There hasn’t been any scoring in Clue since Noah was a boy. I can just imagine many people having read your post, listening again to old programmes in order to “discover” the scores!

Another, less contentious, explanation may be that
they record more rounds than get broadcast. So when a round is edited out there
is bound to be a discontinuity in the scoring. This happens in the majority of
panel games, from Clue to Mock The Week to QI.
