Actually I apologise, the mistake was mine. I went and listened to the radio tribute by Paul again and he said the first time he was on 'with Clement', which I just assumed meant the first time he was on the show.

But thanks to Dean's excellent answer I realise the show Paul was referring to was in the following series after Paul had already done a few shows.
