Topic: Other "incomplete" episodes where Dean has a full transcript

Message 1 / 19
charles_rookeApr 20, 2010

I (and the other Charles - so perhaps many others as well) have incomplete copies of the following episodes for which Dean's site provides a complete transcript. Dean's previous response re #351 (Taj Mahal) means that complete copies must be out there somewhere.

I should be incredibly grateful if some kind person (Steve Wickham - are you there?) could provide links to complete copies of the following:

# 91 - Playing With My Yo-Yo [First 19 mins only]
#342 - The Marie Celeste [Start missing]
#353 - Seals [last 23 mins only]
#392 - Manhattan [Start missing]
#397 - Keeping Baby Amused [Start missing]

Many thanks.
Charlie

Well... having had a look in my music files I have the following as requested which are here to share..... eps 353, 392 and 397.

http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=41ebd1078566ed0a9bf8d6369220dcabd3d7ca1d32fa173682e3a934329c7a5e

My copy of 91 and 342 are also incomplete like yours. I also have an incomplete version of 93 if anyone can help me?

Also I am missing (like everyone else I presume) the following episodes if anyone has them??

3, 4, 5, 6, 9, 11, 12, 23, 34, 36, 182, 105, 385, 423, 459, and 473.

Cheers all,

Steven

Steven,

Many thanks for those complete episodes.

In return, 385, 423(abc&d), 459 & 473;

http://www.sendspace.com/file/gfbdsv

You list 105, but out of numerical sequence, so what should this be ?

Steven,

#385, #459 and #473 are all available on this fabulous site:

http://www.mediafire.com/just-a-minute

which is listed under the links sections as "All available episodes"

I have a copy of #423 so I feel certain it must be posted up here somewhere. I'm going to go and check that and will get back to you. If I can't find it I will endeavour to make it available myself.

Many thanks for sharing (and for responding so promptly). I'd have liked to respond with your missing episodes, but I've been beaten to it.

Your missing episode list suggests you have #259 (Getting Wound Up). I don't have that episode, and neither it appears does Charles_454545. Do you really have it (Dean's website doesn't seem to have a transcript so perhaps you don't)? If you do, could you make my day perfect by posting a link?

Once again, many thanks.

Charlie

Steven, how incomplete is your copy of #93? My version commences with Nicholas saying "...begin the show this week with Peter Jones. Peter, the subject, being tickled. Can you talk about that subject of being tickled for 60 seconds starting now."

If this is of any use to you, I could post a link.

Yes, well I've got quite a few episodes like that with missing intro (and/or missing credits). I don't really worry about them since the "games" themselves are complete - although I do check charles_454545's links periodically in case he posts upgrades.

sigh - this is actually a 1974 show (ep 173)  http://just-a-minute.info/jam397.html

this shows the danger of relying on subjects to tell which show is which. Andree Melly was on 173 - Derek Nimmo was on 259

Thanks for sharing them!

Since there was such a quality gap between the complete and incomplete
JAM #353 "Seals" recordings, I spliced the two recordings to use the
better sound where available, as well as quickly adjusting balance and
levels.

Mind you this is not a careful audio restoration by any means, just a
quick fix for personal use. But in case anyone want to give it a listen
I upped it to my server:

http://www.beatradar.com/JAM_-_1985.03.13_-_Seals.mp3

It still sounds bad, but at least the audio is centered now...

All of the 'previously missing' and 'incomplete' episodes that are in Dean's collection are available from here:

http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=ab94dd5df7819352ffdeb1436938cd73bcb62fa6ccf6f9d2

In 2007 (was it really that long ago?) Dean most generously provided me access to his tapes for digitisation and I posted complete copies of these episodes to this group at the time. Although many (or all) of these episodes have been incorporated into the more complete on line collections available, this link provides the definitive source to the original recordings from Dean's collection.

Included are:

Previously start or end missing
51, 52, 91, 93, 312, 313, 315, 320, 340, 350, 353, 367, 368, 412

Previously missing
78, 106, 108, 111, 112, 113, 114, 195, 300, 301, 302, 303, 304, 305, 308, 310, 360, 365, 372, 389, 402, 408, 417, 422, 431, 433, 435, 436, 437, 440, 444, 449, 451, 453, 454, 455, 461, 462

All files have had at leat 80 downloads from Mediafire since they were uploaded 3 years ago, but newcomers might have missed the original posting and hence the reminder of their availablity.

Best regards,

Martin

Many thanks - I've gratefully grabbed the complete version of #91.

Do you by any chance have a complete copy of #342 (Marie Celeste)? Dean has a full transcript, but it doesn't seem to be included in your post. Or was it one of those cassettes that slipped down the back of the taxi seat during the hand-over?

Kind regards

We haven't come across a complete version of this show. We knew Marie Celeste was the first subject and were missing only nine seconds of the first round so I made up the intro - Nicholas almost always uses the same words - and some words for Kenneth based on what he is challenged for and what he says immediately after. But as I say, we are missing only nine seconds of the first round.

Thanks for the explanation Dean.

And huge thanks for having made so many recordings available to the rest of us via Martin, as well as for maintaining your JAM website and for setting up this group.

Kind rergards
Charlie

We knew Marie Celeste was the first subject and were missing only nine seconds of the first round so I made up the intro - Nicholas almost always uses the same words - and some words for Kenneth based on what he is challenged for and what he says immediately after. But as I say, we are missing only nine seconds of the first round.
