Just to add a little more fuel to the fire, YouTube rarely, if ever, has entire episodes uploaded to it.

That can make a big difference to contravening copyright laws.

As said before, let's hope push doesn't come to shove as we say.

Well HIGNFY is just an example - point is that there is a lot of BBC TV now on YouTube including a lot of material that DEFINITELY IS for sale on DVD, indeed a lot of stuff that has clearly been copied from DVDs. And if we are talking about copyright breaches, my website should be taken down. Our file sharing is also a breach.

And even if the point is commercial value, there is no commercial value in what Espen is doing. The BBC is not going to set up a 24-hour JAM station.

Almost everything on YouTube is a copyright breach of some sort unless you are uploading your home video. That YouTubne continues to thrive sends some sort of message, I think.

I'm not sure that this does settle the doubt.

The difference between Have I Got News For You on Youtube and "JaM Radio" is that the BBC makes money from releasing JaM on CD whereas there's a very limited commercial market for HIGNFY. As soon as "JaM Radio" is seen as a threat to the BBC's commercial interests, however small, you'll know about it.

I'm not familiar with what happens in Espen's country with regard to "take down notices" but I'd suggest Espen reads up on it, just in case.

I wish you luck and I hope that your service is tolerated by the BBC as it's a great idea. Just be prepared for the alternative.
