Windows Media Player is indeed useless bloatware.

Winamp is what you need in order to play this streaming 'JAM' radio station.

Now the JAMmer internet radio is back up!
The reason for it's downtime seems to be a rather silly human error in
the station's playlist. If only I could eradicate myself from this
equation all would be dandy ;)

But for the time being it's up and running, feeding JAM to all who feels
the hunger for top notch british humor. It's address is as it's always been:

http://stream.beatradar.no:8005/listen.pls

Alternatively:

http://stream.beatradar.no:8005

And to see the status of the server, including the track history of last
ten tracks played, go here:

WinAmp is indeed a good player for windows. It's interface may be a bit
overwhelming at first but once you get to know it it's an excellent
tool, also for CD ripping and mp3 encoding. The latest (free!) version
can be found here:
http://www.winamp.com/media-player/

Of course, if you are a Linux user there is a whole world of good and
free software. But I suspect I'm the only Linux user amongst us so I'll
shuddup. ;)
