Paul Merton and Gyles Brandreth are the two regulars at Edinburgh this year, and Stephen K Amos is among the guest panellists.

Can't wait for these shows - the team for the third show of the season is Paul Merton, Tony Hawks, Sheila Hancock and Ross Noble! Ross and Sheila are among my absolute very favouritest guests. Wow!

We may see, sorry hear, more of Ross Noble since he moved back to the UK earlier this year after his Australia house fell victim to a bush fire. I also hope that cloud has a silver lining of more JaM appearances from him.

Cheers

Ross Noble has moved back to the UK?  That's fantastic!  I hope this does lead to more appearances by Ross, his brief appearances in the past few years have had a bit of a mixed effect.  In one episode at the Fringe he managed to do mime on radio and be excellent at it, but in another episode he was treated like utter rubbish because Nicholas was sick of listening to Ross talking about licking Dale Winton.

this will be interesting because I seem to recall that when Ross first came on the show he had a bit of a rivalry with Clement, nothing serious, but it was always fun hearing Ross say things like 'I'll get you Freud!' after again being denied another challenge against Sir Clement.

if Ross can become a regular on the show again, I think that would be just what the show needs.  And also, with Sheila making another appearance, that should be interesting to hear as well, given that with the Original Foursome gone, Sheila is one of the few remaining links to the show's history still around.

I don't think he has moved back to the UK - since 2005 he's always spent about half the year in each country. He did lose his house/farm in Victoria a couple of years ago though, poor guy.

But in any case, I'd love to hear more of Ross. The episode with Ross/Sue Perkins/others, where Ross has the subject of "Diets" is one of my favorite of all time.

The only reason I mentioned that he'd moved back to the UK was because he said it on the Jonathan Ross chat show a few months ago. However things may have changed... And before my image is further tarnished, I only watched that show because Ross was on it... For what it's worth, Ross's Wikipedia entry say the same thing, though how reliable that is, I couldn't say. ;-)

Cheers

To state the bleedin' obvious then - if there are only 8 shows in the series, Paul seems to be in all 8 and Gyles is in half of them!

Nice to see steps being taken to give the show a more consistent feel now there are only Nicholas and Paul left. God knows it'll be difficult enough to replace Nicholas when the sad day comes, but if there's only Paul to rebuild the show around I hate to think what might happen...

yes, that's right. Gyles will have been in 8 of the 20 shows this year. Not quite a regular I guess, but the closest to it, apart from Paul. I know he does still repeat mater ial sometimes, but I find him much more original these days and he is a contrast to Paull.

Well that is some pretty strong evidence to support the notion that Ross has moved back to the UK or is moving back at least. If Ross was on Twitter i think we would know for certain. Then again perhaps not.
Whatever the situation for Ross is at present, let us hope that it leads to him coming back to JAM on a more regular basis.
