I'm in Oz at the moment and I used Radio Downloader to get a copy of The Wire last week.

Kj is right, I can't watch any BBC programmes on the IPlayer, but I can listen to the radio programmes and download them.

Hello Miriam,

It's worth checking the iPlayer route. The video stuff is restricted but I'm sure that the radio content can be had outside of the UK. The reason I say that is that my company's internet connection is in France so whenever I'm at work, that's where sites think I am. And the radio stuff on iPlayer works for me - I've just been listening to last night's "Clue".

Personally I used IPDL for doing downloads. It pretends to be an iPhone so can download the BBC's MP3s directly. Very nice. I also use uknova and thebox.bz, although uknova accounts can be tricky to get hold of as they operate a one-out, one-in policy.

Cheers

kJ
