Do you record streaming audio in real time as it plays (as opposed to downloading radio files from the source)?

If you're a Toshiba or Lenovo user or other bod with a sound card that has had Line-In and "What You Hear" recording disabled by RIAA (and therefore can't record what you hear coming from the sound card), try iSound (http://www.abyssmedia.com/mp3recorder).  Far easier to use than VirtualCable (http://software.muzychenko.net/eng/vac.htm). One click and you're recording.

Which reminds me - must check if this week's ISIHAC is online for recording...

Oooh it is.  And there's a great reference to JAM by Jack Dee...

"It's music time again with Just A Minim.  This is the teams' musical version of Just a Minute, the wireless favourite hosted by the veteran broadcaster Nicholas Parsons who recently published his autobiography.  And this isn't one of those celebrity bigraphies bashed out by a ghost writer. Nicholas personally agonised over every word. And so will you..."

And he gets the boot in a few more times before the show ends  ;-)

I used to record radio programs years ago until I learned there are better ways, the best program I used was Anubis
http://www.anotherurl.com/anubis/AnubisRecorder.htm

A word of caution if you go down the record route, either
1. disable all Windows sounds
2. don't use the PC while recording - even this fails if you have sounds for alerts (email arriving etc)
I found out the hard way that your recordings will be littered and so spoiled with 'sounds'.

I have heard great reports of Radio Downloader from other radio programme sites
http://www.nerdoftheherd.com/tools/radiodld/
I think it downloads programmes by pretending to be iPlayer.

I think it is far better to let other enthusiastic people record and top and tail the programs for me
To go down the download route (preferable in my opinion) I have heard great reports of The Beebotron from other radio programme sites
http://beebotron.org/index.php?reload

Personally I go for Bit Torrent file-sharing, you need to be fairly computer literate to do this, computers are my job so I suppose I am.
The program that I use is uTorrent, small, efficient and works wonderfully
http://www.utorrent.com/

The sites I use to start downloading and sharing programmes are
UK Nova
http://www.uknova.com/

The Box
http://thebox.bz/

ALL the above are free - you don't need to pay for software - there is always a free application out there somewhere.
If you need any help with all/any of these please get back to me/us.

Jack's lines had me in stitches in Just A Minim  "And we'd like to thank Darth Vader for creating this game."
Ross Noble was back on Clue for the first time since his Edinburgh Festival appearance in 2005. Maybe now he's relocated to the UK full time he'll be appearing much more on Just A Minute and Clue

Ross is now back in the UK full time and living in rural Northumberland. His farm in Australia was totally destroyed the the bush fires including his beloved collection of motorbikes.

Hello Miriam,

Sorry for the delay in replying but you're welcome to download from my own collection. http://www.mediafire.com/?ujya8zqb6a9r8

They're probably a bit rough and ready but should still be listenable-to.

Cheers

You're welcome!

Incidentally, they do make several references to "Jeremy Hunt" in the most recent episodes. People in the UK probably know the reference, but just in case you're not aware, have a look at http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2010/dec/06/james-naughtie-today-jeremy-hunt which should explain the context. :-)

Cheers
