I was fortuate enough to be in the uk last october and attend the Salford recordings from the last series.
I posted a couple of grainy pictures here:

Simple set up of 3 sets of table and chairs- panelist on the sides and nicholas/timekeep in center with equipment.
They introduced Nicholas first who was given a Lifetime achievement award with standing ovation. Nicholas then encouraged the audience to Please laugh ( like we needed a prompt LOL) and then he introduced the panelists. Once they sat down they had to test the mikes and buzzers-problems with both but they soon got it fixed. the first show starts and with only a few minutes break the second recording.
I was first row center in the balcony so I had a great view of the stage and was in near rapture the entire time :) They all play to the audience although Paul Merton maybe a bit more- he also scribbles on his notepad all through it and yet listens intently.

The only thing that I noticed was cut from the broadcast was in one of the shows Nicholas makes a mistake and the scorekeeper had to help him while somewhat amusing at the time I am glad they cut it.
Sadly Nicholas and the whole panel had to leave right after the show to catch trains so no chance to get Nicholas to sign his new book which I bought in nearby Manchester.
Thanks again all here that helped me with Information on how get to Manchester/Salford from London. And for Dean who encourage me to "Go for it" in getting the tickets in a rather Unorthordox manner.
Miriam
