I am wondering what people think about the current JAM schedule –
essentially two months on and two months off, whereas in the past we waited four
months for another dose...

Are other shows doing the same thing, e.g. ISIHAC?

As a Greedy fan I rather like having the show more often but I don't think I would want it every week either- it would get stale too quickly.
I wouldn't mind having a new panel show though to keep the genre alive.

I'm greedy as well (arent we all), although too often and it will lose
some of its "exclusivity".
But what's most important is not how *we* feel about this, what's
essensial here is how the panel feel about it. It is very, very
important that it's not too often for Paul, Nic & co. They need to stay
"hungry". But BBC know this of course, so I hope and think it's in the
best of hands.

This is very good news (despite the fact I've been very slack in listening to JAM in the past year).
Does anyone know if they will be recording in this format, or just broadcasting every two months?
And also, I am going to be in England in June - does anyone know how to find out what dates they record JAM? I would LOVE to go to a recording.

The best way to find out about future recordings is to join the JaM newsletter at
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/features/just-a-minute/newsletter/
As far as I know there isn't too much notice given of recordings so it's hard to say whether there'd be any in June. However if they're recording now and if there's two series a year then June/July might be a possibility.
The tickets are allocated at random between applicants so it's just luck as to whether a) a show is on while you're here and b) you get a ticket even if you apply. Unless you take Miriam's approach and pester the producer... ;-)
Cheers

Assuming they stick to the schedule last year and the season is in August
and September, I would think they would start recording in July, so June might
be too early.
Various others have given advice here and my only thing to add would be
similar to the advice I gave Miriam a few months ago – if you really want to go
to a recording, you might have to try a bit harder...

If they stick to seasons of eight, eight and six, it is just one extra show
a year so I guess it's not too often for Paul and Nicholas anyway. Paul has
considerably increased the number of recordings he does since Clement's
death.

In the 1970s the BBC in the UK broadcast JAM once a week on an evening. Then after a break the shows were rebroadcast on a lunchtime slot.
My opinion is the more fresh JAM the better as the group of good semi-regulars is big enough to allow them all to showcase their talents more regularly. Tim Rice needs to be welcomed back too as he is good enough. He is also, after Nic and Sheila, the show's elder statesman.
Back home now and time to go hunt that golden cassette tape (if it still exists).

I think the more regular for the listeners, the better.
The breaks are good, but they can be too long sometimes.
Will they have such breaks in recording?
Probably not. they'll probably have finished recording in August, which again makes it easier on Paul, Nick, etc.
