Topic: Introducing newbies to JAM: a success story

Following up on a question that we were discussing a couple weeks ago,
based on my success in getting a newbie very interested in JAM last
night, I can report that 1992-02-15 works well as an introductory
episode. I decided to try it mainly because of the George Jeffries
round, one of my favorite rounds in all of JAM. Take this information
for what you will....

Ah yes, First Baron George Jeffries, that's the episode that marked Tony Hawks' debut on the show.  another one of my favorite bits was I think the round involving 'Malta' and the fact that each person pretty much said the exact same thing the last one did when they got the subject.

I love that particular episode. A few of my favourite bits:

Tony: "Well, I...." Paul: *buzzes* "Deviation! He didn't start with
'Malta is an island in the Mediterranean!"

Paul: "I d--am very fond of..." Tony: *buzzes* "I don't know what 'I
dam' means."

Paul: "To be honest, I wish I never mentioned his eyes now!"

I recently listened to #169 series 9-1 from 16 Sept 1974
"The First Of A New Series" and despite
being old it occurred to me at the time that it would not
be a bad one for a newbie to listen to with KW, DN, PJ and CF.
