I'm not 100% sure that's an option in all mail clients, Mark. I may be wrong though, I've not tried'em all. But a good advice it is, for those who can but is not aware of the option.

When it is playing I can do a

File > Save page as

That saves the mp3 to my download folder or where ever I choose
