I just think it gets a bit dodgy if you follow that line of reasoning to its logical conclusion - if someone were to say "I read a book with a red cover", that would be classed as repetition, as would "Their car was over there", for example.  It gets more confusing when you think that there are some words which sound the same in some accents but different in others.  I can't think of an example of that right now, but I'm sure there are words like that.

it would be a similar sort of situation if say you were to say six hundred sixty six, if you write it down in numerals, it would be repetitious in the fact that you have three sixes, but not if you actually say six hundred sixty-six.  at least i assume it would be similar.  *shrugs*

If you think I've made your point, then you've mistunderstood me.  My point is that even though you can't hear the difference, it's abundantly clear from context which was used, because the alternative would make no sense.
